Congress expressed concern over the supply of wheat grain in place of Wheat Atta in Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 25:  A strong protest of Congress workers of Jammu West Constituency led by Th. Manmohan Singh, General Secretary JKPCC was held today at Gurah Morh, Bakshi Nagar against  the supply of Wheat instead of Atta at the Government Depots in Jammu City.

The hundreds of Congress activists assembled at Gurah Morh, carrying banners in their hands  amidst chanting  of slogans against Govt.

Speaking on the occasion  Congress leaders expressed serious concern over the supply of wheat grain in place of Wheat Atta at the Govt. depots in Jammu City and elsewhere in the State. They said that general public especially  who reside in urban areas cannot afford the long process of washing, drying and grinding the wheat grain. The people have refused to purchase wheat grain from the Govt. Ration Depots, as today the residents of Sarwal did not allow authorities to unload Wheat at Ration Depot and returned the same to the  department. Similarly people in all parts are protesting against the supply of wheat and failure to provide adequate scale of ration.  

They further said that the scale of sugar which was 750 gms. Per soul has been reduced to 500 gms. Per soul, which is also regrettable.  They demanded that Govt. should immediately restore the supply of ration as per previous scale, in the larger interest of general public.

Smt. Kanta Bhan-Vice President PCC, Shri Vikram Malhotra- General Secretary PCC and Shri Anil Chopra-President District Congress Committee Jammu Urban were the Prominent who spoke on the occasion. Other prominent functionaries who attended the function included S/Shri Dr. Rama Kant Khajuria, Gourav Chopra, J.L. Koul, Pawan Sharma, Joginder Singh, Manmohan Sharma,Rajinder Singh, Balbir Kumar, Vijay Malhotra, Kewal Krishan Jogi, Mangal Dass, Raj Kumar, Prabhu Dayal, Gopal Sharma, Gulshan Kumar, Sampuran Singh, Rajesh Sharma,Pardeep Sharma, Babu Singh and others.
