Secretary & Observers Of Sports Council Act Strong, Derecognize J&K Olympic Association

JAMMU, Mar 15:  After the observation made by the Observors from J&K Sports Council headed by Jt Secretary(J)  Shiv Sharma  that J&K Olympic Association  had made utter mockery of Sports Council guidelines , the State Sports Council after approval from Government derecognized J&K Olympic Association.

Secretary, Sports Council, Jawaid Shah  forwarded the observation of Observers  to Government of J&K vide communication no UO SC/124/110 dtd19.02.16 seeking derecognition of JKOA.

J&k Government vide communication no  Edu/Tech/Phy/2016 dtd  03.03.16 conveyed  administrative approval for accepting demands  in terms of Rule-27 of the constitution of J&k Sports Council.

Secretary Sports Council vide order no 182 of 2016 , dtd 15.03.2016 derecognized the J&K Olympic Association  with immediate effect from Tuesday.

As per the order copy with Cross Town News, the order states  “The recognition granted to J&K Olympic Association is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect. The Association shall not be eligible for grant-in-aid as well as other forms of assistance from the State government/J&K Sports Council and  not to derive the authority to perform the public function of organizing State Games or selecting and deputing the State Teams/contingent for participation in Zonal/National level competition/games and also not to represent the state in National Sports Federation/Indian Olympic Association events, meets , conferences etc  on behalf  of J&K State.”
