Rain, Snowfall In Kashmir Valley:: DGP Directs Police To Remain Alert, Assist Civil Admn

JAMMU, Feb 11:Director General of Police, Mr. K. Rajendra today directed the senior police functionaries in the valley to assist the civil administration and the people in snowbound areas to ease the problems of common masses.
Mr. Rajendra in a communiqué alerted the range Deputy Inspectors General of Police and all District Superintendents of Police to work with the civil administration, local bodies and all the snowbound areas in clearance of roads leading to the hospitals and other important installations. He issued instructions to work with the civil administration and make functional police control rooms round the clock so that the problems of the people are eased.
Mr. Rajendra also directed the Traffic authorities to ensure smooth plying of traffic on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway and other district headquarters so that people don’t face any inconvenience. He said connectivity is must and police have to play an important role to reach inaccessible areas and provide succour to the needy people.
