KVIB provides Rs.393.73 lakh subsidy to 194 entrepreneurs in J&K


JAMMU, Feb 02: The J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) has sponsored 307 cases in favour of unemployed youth of Jammu division for establishing income generating units under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) involving an amount of Rs.371.37 lakh as margin money (subsidy).

It was informed by the Secretary KVIB, Mir Afroz during a meeting convened to review the implementation of PMEGP in Jammu division. He advised the officers to organize more and more awareness camps to aware the unemployed youth living in far flung areas about the schemes being implemented by the KVIB. He also advised the Dy. Chief Executive Officer to conduct a state level exhibition in the next week of the month to provide requisite information to the people.

 Dy. Chief Executive Officer, KVIB Jammu Division, Santosh Saraf informed that this year subsidy to the tune of Rs.393.73 lakh has been disbursed in favour of 194 entrepreneurs till date, thus generating employment opportunities for 1026 persons in total.

Among others who attended the meeting include, Dy. CEO B/P, Tufail Ahmed and Dy Registrar, Mukesh Thapa.
