SRINAGAR, Aug 4: Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Ch. Zulfkar has thanked the Central Government for having considered the demand of granting two AIIMS (each for Kashmir and Jammu regions) in J&K State.In a statement issued here this evening, the Minister thanked the Union Government for appreciating the difficulties of the State particularly in health sector. He said J&K is a land locked state and the terrain of most of the State is rough, hilly and difficult.
Moreover, the Minister said, the State has suffered immensely during the last 25 years and health sector has been a major hit which put people to immense miseries. He said J&K, otherwise also, is not as advanced as other States and as such needs the twin facilities more.
Ch. Zulfkar said that the State Government has been pursuing the case of granting AIIMS at Srinagar and Jammu with utmost seriousness and it would be the endeavour of the Government to ensure that both hospitals are established at the earliest in the two regions.
