Bhopal, Oct 21: Madhya Pradesh State-level Environment Impact Assessment Authority Chairman Shivnarayan Singh Chauhan has recommended the immediate suspension of member secretary and IAS officer Harshal Pancholi, along with disciplinary action against him, alleging serious irregularities and violations of statutory provisions.
He wrote to the Chief Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh government in this regard. A copy of the letter was also sent to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for necessary action.
Chairman alleged that the prescribed procedure was not followed while preparing the agendas for SEIAA's 974th and 975th meetings.
Questions have also been raised over the exclusion of some other environmental clearance cases from the agenda.
The Chairperson alleged that the member secretary uploaded the agendas for some meetings on the PARIVESH portal without obtaining the Chairperson's approval.
