RTO Jammu realizes Rs 4.80 lakh fine from traffic violators


 

JAMMU, Nov 29: In view of increasing number of violations of the M.V Act, 1988 on the road  and as per the   directions of  Transport Minister A.G Kohli, Secretary Transport  and Transport Commissioner,   RTO Jammu  A.K Khajuria  and his team conducted extensive checking of vehicles during the intervening night of 28/11/2015 .

The team conducted checking in Jammu, Vijaypur and other parts of the National Highway and realized a fine of  Rs. 4.80 lakh  from the violators and defaulters.

Along with RTO the team comprised of  Mohd Saleem ARTO and Miss Punica ARTO Flying Squad  Jammu,

During the checking about 327 number of vehicles comprising of Buses, Trucks and other load carriers were checked on the road and over 127 vehicles were compounded on the spot by the teams . Besides this, about 30 No. of vehicles were challaned by the teams and 10 vehicles were seized under section 192(A) / 56 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. These vehicles were challenged and compounded for the offence of overloading of the payload and passengers, violations of route permits conditions, pollution norms fitness and other misc. offences under M.V. Act,1988.

 The Motor vehicles department Jammu has already initiated a special drive against overloading. Many vehicles carrying overload were off loaded at different spots and compounded for the offence. 

The checking teams included Motor Vehicles Inspectors,  Abnish Sharma, Vinod Chalotra, Surinder kumar, Shammi Kapoor, and Param veer Singh.

The RTO Jammu has further warned the vehicle operators to  strictly adhere to the provisions of the Act failing which they shall be booked under the relevant provisions of the Law.
