Thiruvananthapuram, , Sep 27: The Kerala High Court has held that an approved building plan issued by a Panchayat is a document available in the public domain and does not constitute “personal information” exempt from disclosure under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
Justice Murali Purushothaman made the observation while allowing a writ petition challenging the refusal of the State Public Information Officer to furnish a copy of an approved building plan issued to a private hospital.
The Court directed the SPIO to provide the petitioner with a copy of the approved building plan within one month.
