JAMM, Sep 09: A magisterial probe was ordered on Wednesday after a youth died in Police custody in the Border Police Post Chakroi of R S Pura in Jammu, where he was called for questioning in a complaint.
Family and relatives of the deceased youth, identified as Uttam Chand, held a protest demonstration seeking impartial probe into the incident and action against the guilty Police officials.
Superintendent of Police Headquarters Jammu Anna Sinha visited the spot and said that a magisterial inquiry was ordered into the custodial death and full justice would be served to the bereaved family as no guilty would be spared.
Jammu Police later took strict action and all police personnel posted at BPP Chakroi transferred out within 2 hours, whereas magisterial enquiry issued and Medical Board created for post-mortem.
