Aizawl, August 27: Senior IPS officer, who is facing a criminal case in Delhi over alleged unauthorised raids, illegal detention and extortion, has been reported missing after remaining on prolonged leave, prompting Mizoram Police to launch a search and inquiry into his whereabouts.
Choudhary, a 2011-batch AGMUT-cadre officer, was serving as officer on special duty at the Mizoram Police headquarters in Aizawl.
It said he had taken leave for more than 105 days between April and July 15, but the department has since been unable to establish his whereabouts.
An order also had been issued earlier posting him as Deputy Inspector General of police (training), but he reportedly did not join the new assignment.
It said the department was still unable to trace Choudhary and that an inquiry was underway.
