Kishtwar, August 24, 2026 Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today chaired a review meeting to assess the improvement in key performance indicators (KPIs) and the progress of developmental works being undertaken in Block Marwah and Block Warwan under the Aspirational Block Development Programme 2026-27 of the Government of India and the Union Territory Government of J&K.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of key performance indicators (KPIs) under key sectors, including health and nutrition, education, agriculture and allied activities, basic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation, financial inclusion and social development.
The physical and financial status of ongoing works, sector-wise achievements and critical gaps were discussed in detail. Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Kishtwar, Sh. Akhil Thakur, apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the current status of various ongoing works.
The DC also reviewed the progress of works under the District Capex Budget 2026-27 for Aspirational Blocks Marwah and Warwan.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments and executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and complete all ongoing projects within the stipulated timelines. He further directed the agencies to start works immediately where the tendering process has been completed and works have been allotted.
The DC directed that the salaries and increments of officers and other employees may be withheld, as per rules, in cases where poor progress is due to negligence of duties.
The Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kishtwar, was directed to take necessary measures to improve the pass percentage of boys and girls at the secondary and higher secondary levels. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kishtwar, was directed to complete the NQAS certification process and improve NCD screening in both the Aspirational Blocks.
The PO ICDS, Kishtwar, was directed to improve supplementary nutrition coverage and take effective measures to reduce SAM and MAM cases. The Lead District Manager (LDM), Kishtwar, was directed to increase banking access points in Sub-Division Marwah, with special focus on establishing ATM facilities.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of timely execution of works, close monitoring and coordination among departments to ensure effective implementation of the Aspirational Blocks Programme and improve socio-economic conditions in both blocks, Marwah and Warwan.
