Pune, Aug 12: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has initiated strict action against Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd. at Lonavala's famous Mapro Garden following a viral video showing worms in a pizza served to customers.
A surprise inspection by FSSAI's Western Region officials revealed severe violations of hygiene and sanitary standards prescribed under Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Authorities issued a formal notice to the establishment and initiated penalty proceedings, reassuring tourists and addressing public outrage over food safety standards at popular dining destinations.
