Jammu, Aug 01: : A cloudburst struck the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in the early hours of Saturday, washing away several vehicles, damaging property and forcing the closure of the Chatroo–Kishtwar National Highway.
The cloudburst occurred at around 2.30 a.m., triggering a sudden surge of water and debris that affected parts of the area. Several vehicles are believed to have been washed away, while damage to property has also been reported.
The full extent of the damage was yet to be ascertained and assessment of losses was underway.
