Jammu, July 21: Yuva Rajput Sabha–J&K (YRS), under the leadership of its President Mandeep Singh, continued its second day of the hunger strike in support of the genuine demands of the sportspersons of Jammu. Prominent Personalities, including Former President Vikram Singh Vicky, Rajan Singh Happy, Arjuna Awardee Rakesh Kumar, Wushu Champion Surya Bhanu, Vishal Kumar Judo Olympics Medelist, Anshuman International Medelist in Judo, Sumit Thakyal Asian and International Power Lifting Gold Medelist, Bar Association Vice President Adv Baldev Singh, All India Langeh Biradhari President Ramesh Singh Langeh extend their support to hunger strike to express solidarity with the sportspersons and demand immediate justice.
Addressing the media, President Mandeep Singh strongly condemned the National Conference (NC) Government and stated that the continued neglect of athletes, who have brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir, is unacceptable and reflects the administration's indifference towards sports and youth.
The Sabha also questioned the silence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on this important issue, stating that both the ruling government and the opposition must come forward to safeguard the interests of the sportspersons instead of remaining silent spectators.
YRS appealed to the people of Jammu, youth organisations, social groups, and all citizens to join the ongoing protest and extend their support to this genuine movement for justice. The Sabha further announced that the hunger strike will continue tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and urged the public to participate in large numbers until the genuine demands of the sportspersons are fulfilled and justice is delivered.
