Srinagar, July 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has prohibited the operation of two-wheelers on motor vehicle aggregator platforms across the Union Territory until a dedicated regulatory framework for bike taxi services is notified.
Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan said the decision has been taken to ensure compliance with the Jammu & Kashmir Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2023, under which only vehicles duly permitted to operate as commercial vehicles can be onboarded by aggregators.
The Transport Commissioner directed all aggregator licence holders to immediately remove any two-wheelers already listed on their platforms and refrain from offering such services.
