New Delhi, July 17: On a complaint Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), GNCTD had unearthed a major extortion and bribery racket operating inside Delhi Prisons, involving jail officials, inmates, Advocates and private persons.
The investigation had earlier exposed a well-organized criminal syndicate that allegedly extorted money from the family members of under trial prisoners in return for providing protection, preferential treatment and other unauthorized facilities inside jails.
CB laid a successful trap and registered FIR No. 04/2026. Officials 1. Dinesh Dabas (Warder, Rohini Jail), 2. Pankaj Kumar (Warder, Rohini Jail), 3. Ravi Kumar (Warder, Rohini Jail), 4. Jogender (Head Warder, Tihar Jail), 5. Manish (Advocate, Faridabad) and 6. Ashish Rana (Private Person, Delhi) were arrested.
A bribe amount of Rs 1 lakh was recovered during the operation.
