JAMMU, JULY 18: Under the directions of District Magistrate Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas and in coordination with SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, joint teams of the District Administration and Jammu Police today carried out a demolition drive against properties of drug peddlers in Jammu and Bishnah tehsils, dismantling several illegal structures built with proceeds of the drug trade.
With today's combined operations at Bishnah and Nikki Tawi, the District Administration and Jammu Police demolished illegal properties worth a cumulative Rs 3 crore linked to drug trafficking, besides recovering heroin and illegal weapons from the accused.
At Ismailpur Kothey in tehsil Bishnah, SDM South Manu Hansa and SP South Vaibhav Meena supervised demolition of a double-storey structure built. Among those present were Tehsildar Bishnah, SDPO Gandhinagar and the SHOs of Bishnah and Gangyal police stations.
At Nikki Tawi area in tehsil Jammu Khas, another joint team demolished properties belonging to two more drug peddlers. The team razed to the ground a structure spread over approximately 2.5 kanals and valued at around Rs 90 lakh. In a parallel action, the team demolished commercial structures vacating approximately 5 marlas of land valued at around Rs 40 lakh.
These two operations removed illegal properties worth approximately Rs 1.30 crore, linked to drug trafficking, from the Nikki Tawi area under provisions of the NDPS Act. ACR Jammu Dr Rajesh Kumar supervised the drive, in the presence of Tehsildar Jammu Paramdeep Singh, Naib Tehsildar Bitti Singh and officials of the Police Department.
