BHUBANESWAR, July 04: : A woman Police Officer was found hanging in her official quarters in Odisha's Cuttack on Today & identified as Beauty Mohanty, serving as the Inspector-in-Charge of Chauliaganj Police Station in Cuttack.
Her body was found in her residential quarters on Saturday morning and was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for a post-mortem examination.
Her domestic help repeatedly called her for dinner on Friday night, but she did not answer the phone. When she did not come out of her room on Saturday morning, she was checked on and found hanging from the ceiling.
Preliminary investigation indicates it was a case of suicide but further investigation is underway to determine the cause.
