JAMMU , June 28: The Central government is likely to consider former Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka for the post of Governor/Lieutenant Governor keeping his experience in handling key challenges on account , Sources told Cross Town News .
A 1988-batch IPS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, Deka , who is one of the longest-serving chief of the agency , serving from June 2022 ,whereas tenure ended couple of days ago.
Deka is known for experience in handling key national security challenges.
Sources further told Cross Town News that Shifting of Ministers from Uttar Pradesh Quota cannot be ruled Out , as Elections will take place early next year.
Sources said that one or two Ministers from Uttar Pradesh Quota can be changed in Union Cabinet to focus with more energy and impetus in Uttar Pradesh , for the most important Elections, before the General Elections in year 2029.
