ACB J&K traps and arrests Official



JAMMU, June 27:  Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu registered a case FIR No. 04/2026 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and 61(2) of BNS against public servants namely Er. Ravinder Krundu, AEE, presently posted in the office of Labour Department as Inspector of Factories & Boilers and Gurdass, Sr. Assistant for demanding and accepting illegal gratification from the complainant.

The said accused public servant namely Ravinder Krundu, has demanded illegal gratification of Rs. 60,000/- from the complainant but after negotiation the amount was settled at Rs. 40,000/- through his office clerk namely Gurdass, for processing and clearing the boiler inspection case of the complainant. Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay bribe and approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law.

On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned through his office clerk and accordingly, a case FIR No. 04/2026 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and 61(2) BNS is registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted.


The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant namely Gurdass, Sr. Assistant was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant on behalf of Er. Ravinder Krundu, AEE in the presence of independent witnesses. At the time of the trap, accused Er. Ravinder Krundu, AEE was not found present in his office.

The accused Gurdass, Sr. Assistant was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The tainted bribe money was also recovered from his possession in the presence of the independent witnesses associated with the trap team.

Moreover, searches are being conducted at the residential premises of both the accused persons in the presence of independent witnesses in accordance with the law. Further investigation of the instant case is going on.
