Srinagar, June 26: The Food and Drugs Administration , Jammu and Kashmir, has seized 91 cases of suspected counterfeit Verka ghee weighing around 1,092 kg and valued at approximately Rs 6.61 lakh during inspections carried out in Jammu and Srinagar following a specific complaint.
Authorities are investigating whether the seized product is counterfeit, misbranded, sub-standard or otherwise in violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Appropriate action will be taken after receipt of laboratory reports and completion of the investigation.
