JAMMU, May 12:Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh chaired a high-level review meeting today with the District Special Branch (DSB) to evaluate the prevailing security scenario and the efficacy of intelligence-gathering mechanisms within the district. The meeting was attended by the SP (Headquarters), along with all members and field operatives of the DSB.
During the session, the SSP underscored the irreplaceable value of Human Intelligence (HUMINT). He emphasized that while technology is a tool, the most effective policing comes from being "on the ground" and maintaining a robust network of local sources. He urged the officers to further strengthen their grassroots connectivity to preemptively tackle emerging security challenges.
A significant portion of the meeting focused on the district's ongoing war against drugs. The SSP lauded the District Special Branch for its commendable role in identifying narcotics syndicates and facilitating recent breakthroughs. He noted that their proactive intelligence has been instrumental in curbing the drug menace and maintaining overall communal harmony and peace in Jammu.
Reiterating the department’s commitment to a "Zero Tolerance" policy against anti-social elements, the SSP concluded the meeting by encouraging the team to maintain their momentum in ensuring a safe and drug-free environment for the citizens.
