Dy CM attends Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway Meeting, Flags the State’s issue,


NEW DELHI, JULY 20: The Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari today held a review meeting to discuss the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway and the issues thereof.

The meeting was also attended by the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana Captain Amrinder Singh and Manoharlal Khatter and Deputy Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Dr Nirmal Singh.

The minister asked the states to come up with a detailed reports regarding the issues like road alignment, land accusation cases and other related issues so that the work can be expedited on the prestigious project which would be coming up as alternate highway for connecting Delhi, Punjab, Haryana with Katra . It would also result in the sustained development of the areas besides increasing mobility and traffic regulation on this route, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister while speaking on the occasion also called for speeding up the work on the prestigious expressway which would result in increasing the means of communication , better mobility and development of the areas through which it would pass.

Earlier the Deputy Chief Minister called on the union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh and discussed various issues like cross border shelling, the steps being taken by the government for sustainment of peace and the sucessfull conduct of Amarnath Yatra, Refugee's issues and matters of internal security. He also asked for undertaking a special recruitment drive in central security forces for hilly and birder areas of the state.
