DC Kishtwar directs to complete all pending JJM works in a time-bound manner & adhering to quality parameters

KISHTWAR, MAY 05: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress and functioning of the Jal Shakti Department and the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress achieved so far. He directed for certification of all 39 completed JJM works without delay, ensuring due verification and adherence to all required procedural formalities.

He further directed to complete all pending works in a time-bound manner and adhering to quality parameters, so that the benefits of safe and adequate drinking water supply reach every household.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the department to issue notices to the contractors lagging in progress or failing to comply with the prescribed specification. He also directed the department to make an inventory of pipes and construction materials at each site to ensure better site management, safety and efficiency in execution.

With regard to site-specific issues, the Deputy Commissioner directed to resolve the gravity dispute at Bathdaat Saroor area on priority.

“The Jal Shakti Department and Police shall conduct a joint site visit to carry out detailed assessment to determine the required corrective measures to avoid further delay in the execution,” he directed.

He further directed to complete all pending Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) works to achieve full saturation under JJM in the district.

The meeting was attended by ACD Manoj Kumar; ACP Neeraj Sharma; ExEn Jal Shakti Rohit Wadera, AEEs, JEs and other concerned staff from the Jal Shakti Department.
