New Delhi, March 31: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two public servants- a Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC) and a Senior Security Assistant of employees of Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Batmaloo, Kashmir Region, Srinagar while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the instant case on 31.03.2026 against the said accused.
It was alleged that the accused Regional Provident Fund Commissioner demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,50,000 from the complainant for not taking adverse action & charging hefty penalty against the school of the complainant.
The CBI laid a trap on 31.03.2026 and caught the accused Senior Security Assistant red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant.
The accused RPFC was also arrested after acknowledging the acceptance of a bribe by the middleman (Senior Security Assistant)
Further investigation is underway.
