DC Ramban Distributes Micro ATMs and Biometric Devices to Krishi Udhyamis

 Ramban October 28: In a significant step towards promoting digital financial inclusion and strengthening the outreach of agricultural services, the District Administration Ramban, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, today organized a distribution ceremony for Micro ATMs and Biometric Devices among Krishi Udyamis (KUs) of various KKG of the district who have been also onboarded with the Common Service Centres (CSC) network under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, who distributed the devices to the Krishi Udyamis and encouraged them to play their proactive role in extending both agricultural and digital services to the farming community at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized upon the Krishi Udyamis to provide doorstep digital financial services, including Aadhaar-enabled payments, fund transfers, and other online government services, particularly benefiting farming communities in remote and hilly areas.

He highlighted that the integration of agriculture and digital technology is a key to achieve the vision of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

This initiative is expected to pave the way for greater financial inclusion, digital connectivity, and technology-driven growth in the agricultural sector of Ramban district, the DC added.

Chief Agriculture Officer Ramban, Dr. Vinay Kumar Jandial, while addressing the gathering, stated that the distribution of Micro ATMs and Biometric Devices will empower Krishi Udyamis to function as Digital Service Providers, ensuring that farmers have access to essential financial and agricultural services within their local areas.

He added that this initiative under HADP marks an important milestone in building digitally empowered agricultural entrepreneurs who can bridge the gap between farmers and technology.

Others present on the occasion included District Agriculture Officer Kuldeep Bassan, Subject Matter Specialist, Jyoti Prakash, and Sub-Divisional SMSs of Ramban, who also sensitized the Krishi Udyamis and encouraged them to utilize the devices effectively for the benefit of the farming community. Officials from the Agriculture Department, CSC representatives, and Krishi Udhyamis from different blocks of the district attended the event. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the District Administration and the Agriculture Department for their continuous support in promoting digital empowerment and agricultural entrepreneurship.
