Dhanbad, Sept 04: The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two officials of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) from Lodna Colliery area while accepting bribe from a retired employee.
The accused have been identified as Rajkumar Singh, a clerk, and Ramashray, an operator.
According to CBI officials, the duo was caught red-handed while taking Rs 20,000 from a retired BCCL employee.
The complainant had alleged that the two officials had demanded money for releasing his pending retirement benefits.
Acting on the complaint, the CBI's Dhanbad branch verified the allegations and laid a trap.
During the operation, the team apprehended Singh and Ramashray inside the Lodna Colliery office premises while they were accepting the bribe amount.
Sources confirmed that the operation was swift, leaving no chance for the accused to escape.
Both were immediately taken into custody and interrogated at the CBI office.
The investigative agency is likely to conduct further searches to identify if more officials are involved in the bribery network.
They are being questioned, and further action is underway.
