JAMMU, Sept 4: Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Joginder Singh, today SSP Jammu held a crime and security review meeting at District Police Lines Jammu. The meeting was attended by Zonal SSPs, SDPOs, DySP DAR, SHOs and Incharge Police Posts of the district. During the meeting, SPs of Rural, Headquarters, North and South City presented details on crime scenarios, achievements and progress in their areas.
SP Operations gave a presentation on organized crime and activities of criminal gangs. The review focused on crime control, quality investigation, timely disposal of cases under old and new laws, verifications, NDPS cases, property disputes, absconders, history-sheeters and missing persons. Progress on CCTNS, e-Sakshaya, SIDs, e-summons and use of FSL services was also discussed.
The SSP directed officers to ensure effective surveillance on organized criminals and take strict action against gangsters and drug peddlers under the policy of zero tolerance towards drugs.
He also stressed on speedy and quality investigation, reducing pendency, strict action against corruption, and maintaining discipline and accountability.
SSP advised officers to provide efficient policing with assurance of safety and security to the public while dealing politely and sympathetically with their problems.
He also appreciated the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police officers and jawans during the recent floods, where timely alerts, evacuations and rescue operations in coordination with civil administration, SDRF, NDRF and other forces saved hundreds of lives.
