SRINAGAR, Sep 02: Doda Police issued a flood awareness advisory for the general public, urging people to remain alert and take precautionary measures in view of possible flood threats in the Doda region.
It said continuous public announcements are being made to warn residents about dangers of venturing near flood-prone areas, rivers and nallahs.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors, especially ensuring the safety of children, elderly and vulnerable persons.
The advisory also cautioned people against crossing flooded areas and appealed to them to immediately contact the nearest police post or station in case of emergencies.
To assist the public, Doda Police has shared 24×7 emergency helpline numbers including PCR Doda (01996-233530 / 7298923100 / 100), ERSS helpline (112), and contacts of senior officers, SHOs and police posts across the district. Authorities said these measures are part of precautionary efforts to ensure public safety during the current weather situation.
