KATHUA, Aug 21: Member Legislative Assembly, Dr. Bharat Bhushan concluded three days extensive tour of cloud burst hit areas of Kathua today.
He was accompanied by District Development Council Kathua Vice Chairman Raghunandan Singh Bablu, BJP District Preaident Updeah Andotra, former District President Municipal Council Lakhanpur Ravinder Sharma Shittu, DDC Member Dr. Shweta, former Sarpanch Dilawar Singh, Caption Pawan Sharma , youth activists Bhanu Partap Singh, Amit Sudan & former Sarpanches, panches and numberdars .
Former Chief Planning Officer Devinder Singh Jasrotia and Narinder Jasrotia, former Rural Bank Distt. Manager were also part of the team that visited the affected areas.
MLA started the visit by visiting ITI Road Kathua, the nearby locality, Ward number 7 Kathua, ward No. 8 Parliwand Kathua. Massive destruction has taken place in these areas and flood water and mud upto 7 feet haa entered into houses of people in these areas.
At Bagra Village where Cloud Burst took place and claimed two lives, the DDC Vice Chairman attended the last rites of deceased persons while MLA Kathua with the help of administration got shifted injured to Medical College Kathua.
The team visited Medical College Kathua and enquired about the well being of the injured. The MLA Kathua asked Principal Medical College to provide best possible medicare to the injured.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, the next day alongwith team visited Dilwan Panchayat which has been badly affected by the cloud burst of Bagra Village.
The team observed that the road from Patoli to Dilwan has been badly damaged and massive destruction has engulged many houses and hamlets. The High School Dilwan has been damaged. It's Compond wall and play ground has washed away.
At Kharote and Janglote Panchayat, the cloud burst has damaged many roads and localities.Kanyari, patyari areas of Janglote has experienced massive loss of property and infrastructure.
Scores of houses have been damaged , many vehicles have washed away and inner roads of these villages are totally damaged.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan MLA urged the Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti and Piwer Development Department to restore water and power supply immediately
Dilwan Panchayat has no drinking water facility now and needs to be accorded priority.
He asked CEO, Muncipal Council Kathua to ensure cleaning and desilting of inner nallahs and drains of Kathua to tackle water logging issues of the town. He himself inspected vulnerable spots of Gujjar Hostel, Main Bazar, Jail Road, Ward No 7, Ward No 6 and ward no 3.He aalo visited Sherpur Village where road have been badly damaged and an industrial unit has washed away.
Later he apprised Deputy Commissioner Kathua of the colossus loss and stressed to address the issue of restoring connectivity, water and power supply on priority.
