KARGIL, June 25: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar chaired a detailed review meeting of the Public Health Engineering Department today at the DC Office Chamber to evaluate the progress of ongoing water supply schemes in the district.
At the outset, the DC was presented with a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation outlining the physical and financial progress of water supply schemes under the Capex Budget, SDP and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The presentation also highlighted the status of existing drinking water facilities in Kargil town and updates on centrally sponsored schemes.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth implementation. He urged officials to proactively address challenges and to engage with BWSC and VWSC members to facilitate Har Ghar Jal certification.
While reviewing the functioning of water testing laboratories, the DC instructed that all pending works be completed by the end of the month and directed the department to initiate the process for NABL accreditation.
He also stressed on regular monitoring, proper maintenance of water infrastructure, and optimal utilization of funds for visible impact on the ground.
