Mufti, Nirmal thanks Modi for “80,000 crores” developmental package

 SRINAGAR, Nov 07:Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Saturday thanked the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for announcing a massive developmental package of Rs.80,000 crore for J&K during his huge public meeting here today.

Terming the economic package announced by the Prime Minister as historic, Deputy Chief Minister Dr  Nirmal singh today said that it would give an new lease to the economic sector of the state besides accelerating the development related activities resulting in changing the socio-economic profile of the people and also cater to the flood affected people.

CM Mufti also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for reposing faith in his leadership to put J&K firmly on the path of development. “I am grateful to Narendra Modi for announcing the unprecedented development package for J&K, which I am sure, will go a long way in strengthening the core sectors of our economy,” he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister today said the Rs 80000 crore package will be in addition to Rs 35000 crore being spent on up gradation of Srinagar-Jammu highway. “The package would be in addition to the Rs 30000 crore annual plan assistance for the State”, he maintained.
