SRINAGAR, June 19: Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmad Rana, today said that there are gaps in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, saying that several water supply projects under the scheme were constructed in areas with no proper water source.
Rana questions last 5-6 years for the collapse of the system and the resulting mismanagement & added that JJM was introduced in 2019, but we have received complaints from several places that projects were made where there is no water source & added that the department is now investigating how such decisions were taken.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to need-based interventions and infrastructure revival to ensure better water and agricultural services for the people.
Pertinent to mention that House committee is also formed to probe irregularities in JJM.
