Srinagar, May 18: After an alleged sexual assault on a school girl at Chatterhama area of city outskirts, the government has decided to make installation of CCTVs in city schools mandatory.
Pertinent to mention here that, a girl of Government High School Chatterhama was sexually assaulted allegedly by a Teacher and Peon following which a case was registered at Police Station Zakura on May 7 of 2025 & the Teacher and Peon were under custody since May 7 of 2025.
A case under FIR NO. 23/2025, under section 68,127 BNS, 5/6, 16 POSCO Act stands registered at the Police station Zakura and investigations are going on.
No doubts, the incident has raised questions over the safety of the students in the schools besides the trust imposed on the teachers & the shameful Act has raised the big question mark on the credibility of the teachers.
following the said issue, Minister for Education Sakina Itoo had said they will make installation of CCTVs mandatory in schools, especially in Srinagar to ensure safety of students while other measures will be ensured as well.
