Jammu, May 04: The Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation Rakesh Kumar Sarangal has assured Member of Legislative Assembly Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan that Inter- State Bus Terminal kathua will be made operational soon.
Earlier MLA Kathua apprised Managing Director, J&K Road Transport corporation that Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at kathua has not been operationalized so far despite assurance of the government on the floor of Assembly in this regard.
He added that the people of Kathua has been suffering due to this problem and has to go to Pathankot or Jammu to avail inter-state Bus facility to go National Capital, New Delhi and other cities of the country.
Similarly inter-state Buses don't stop at kathua adding to the woes of the people. The Managing Director, RTC reiterated resolve of the government to operationalize the ISBT kathua and assured MLA of addressing the issue on priority.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua also urged for restoration of RTC Bus Service between Kathua and Pathankot which was stopped during COVID-19.
Later MLA Kathua discussed issues of Municipal Council Kathua and Municipal Committees of Lakhanpur and Nagri with Director Urban Local Bodies Ms. Manisha Sareen.
