Punjab Government transfers 162 police officers in a single day in Punjab including 11 IPS Officers

Chandigarh, April 08:  Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann transferred 162 police officers in a single day, including 11 officers of the Indian Police Service.

 The first list saw the transfer of 97 officers, featuring the reassignment of eleven IPS officers to new postings. The second list included 65 Deputy Superintendents of Police, indicating a comprehensive shift in the mid-level command structure.

Among the prominent changes, 2015 batch IPS officer Ravjot Grewal has been posted as AIG, Counter Intelligence, Punjab, SAS Nagar. She previously held the position of AIG, Technical Services, Punjab, Chandigarh. Ashwini Gotyal, 2016 batch IPS officer and former AIG, HRD, Punjab, has been appointed as AIG at the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Punjab, SAS Nagar. Vatsala Gupta, IPS (RR:2016), who continues as Commandant of the 27th Battalion PAP in Jalandhar, has now also been given additional charge as AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana. Another significant transfer includes Jasroop Kaur Batth, IPS (RR:2020), who moves from SP, Investigation, Jalandhar Rural, to ADCP-III, Amritsar. Aditya S Warrier, IPS (RR:2020), who served as ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar, has been appointed as SP, Investigation, Amritsar Rural, replacing Harinder Singh Gill, 1395/PAP. Vaibhav Choudhary, a 2020-batch IPS officer and former ASP Detective, Patiala, now takes over as SP, Headquarters, Patiala, replacing Harwant Kaur (DR). Akarshi Jain, IPS (RR:2020), formerly ASP SD Civil Lines, Ludhiana, will now supervise the work of ADCP-I, Jalandhar in the rank of ASP. Similarly, Sirivennela, IPS (RR:2021), who was ASP SD Model Town, Jalandhar, will now oversee ADCP-II duties in Amritsar.

Jayant Puri, 2021 batch IPS officer and former ASP of the 13th Battalion PAP, Chandigarh, has been assigned the role of ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar. Meanwhile, Vineet Ahlawat, IPS (RR:2021), earlier ASP SD East, Amritsar, is now posted as ADCP, Operations and Security, Jalandhar. Dilpreet Singh, IPS (RR:2021), who was ASP SD Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, will now look after the responsibilities of SP, Headquarters, Sangrur, in the rank of ASP.
