LEH,Oct 31: PYC’s mass movement against the BJP-PDP government’s anti youth polices, “Yuva Akrosh Yatra” was held today at Leh in which a large number of youth and general public participated. The rally marched in the Leh Town and was addressed by Shri Nawang Rigzin Congress Legislature Party Leader and other Senior Congress Leaders.
The Yatra was organized by Tsering Namgyal, President District Youth Congress, Nawang Lotus Vice President DYC and Gen secretary JKPYC Leh. Former MP and Ex. Union minister Sh. P. Namgayal, Congress Party Councilors including Shri sonam Dorjay, Shri Gyurmet Dorjey, Shri Morup Dorjay and Sarpanch Shri Tsering Angchuk also addressed the gathering.
The speakers highlighted and condemned the anti youth polices of the present coalition government through the steps like recently introduced recruitment policy. Tsering Namgyal, President District Youth Congress lauded the initiatives taken by Sh. Pranav Shagotra for the cause of the youth of the state. He said the youth of entire Ladakh region is in full support with PYC Chief and we will make our fight for justice more visible in the days to come.He further added that, through this Yatra, we urge the government to abolish the new recruitment 2015 policy and adopt fair and merit based policy to recruit the youth and we express solidarity with the thousands of daily wagers and NYCs across the state.
Sh. Shri Nawang Rigzin lambasted the BJP-PDP government for the failure of the government in the court to protect the reservation in promotions and for neglecting the youth of the state.
While addressing the gathering he said that, Paradesh Youth Congress has to play a pivotal role to safe guard the rights of the Youth of the state, at time when the PDP-BJP Government has abandoned many of the earlier existing employment schemes and has recently introduced a draconian Recruitment Policy 2015, which has been widely criticised by the public and was sent back by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to the government for a proper review.
He further added that the present dispensation of PDP-BJP has failed to take step and define any clear policy to reduce the unemployment in the state. The government has refused to implement the earlier Cabinet order of previous Congress participated coalition regarding the NYC (National Youth Corps) and Daily wagers engaged in PHE and other departments.
He further elaborated that “UPA initated Udaan, Himayat, PM Scholarship scheme and programmes. These brought cheer into the lives of unemployed educated youths of the state. It has been more than a year now that BJP government at center failed to introduce any new initiative for employment of the youth. This meeting of PYC Leadership seek continuity in the path breaking initiatives for promoting employability taken by the UPA government in the state.”
He also appealed the People of Jammu and Kashmir to uphold the peace and brotherhood in the times of communal politics of the present dispensation of PDP and BJP. Sh. Jora warned the communal and divisive forces to restrain from indulging in the politics of hate and division.
