Power Deptt slashes Electricity Duty in J&K, Dy CM  told Cross Town News that more such decision to be taken in coming days

JAMMU, Oct 31:  Power Development Department J&K has slashed Electricity Duty on the power tariff being charged from the consumers with immediate effect.Power Development Department was charging 22% Electricity Duty from the consumers and from now onwards only 10% duty would be charged.

While Speaking to Cross Town News, Dy CM Nirmal Singh said more people and Industry friendly decisions will come in coming days from Power Department. Government will strive to give better governance.

This decision has been taken while exercising the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Electricity Duty Act, 1963 and in partial modification of Notification SRO-566 dated October 25, 1984.

An order regarding slashing of Electricity Duty has been issued by the Commissioner/ Secretary to Government, Power Develo-pment Department.
