JAMMU,Oct 13:After covering the district Kathua and Samba on the day one, “ Yuva Akraosh Yatra” a mass movement organized by Pradesh Youth Congress against the new recruitment policy of the BJP-PDP government and in support of the unsettled issues of thousands of daily wagers, NYCs and other educated unemployed youth, today reached at Jammu, where hundreds of youth joined the on foot march in different parts of the city.
The Yatra was led by Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National secretary, Pranav Shagotra President J&K PYC, Satish Sharma, Paramjit singh, Rajvir Manhas General Secretaries PYC, Charanjeet Singh, LYC President, Jammu-Poonch from the Congress Bhavan Sheedhi Chowk and marched via Residency Road, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazar and cuminated at Sheedhi Chowk, where Sh. Sham Lal Sharma Former Minster and Sr. Vice President and Sh. Vikram Malhotra General Secreatry JKPCC addressed the youth activists of the Party. The Congress leaders lauded the role played by youth congress in highlighting the issues of youth of the State.
Prominent Youth Congress Leaders including, Balbir Singh Secretary, PYC, Chetan Wanchoo, Sandeep Singh Spokespersons., Anoop Gupta,R icky Dalotra,Hoshiar Singh Chib, LYC General Secretaries Sachin Gupta,Jagjot singh,Arun Singh,Manjot Singh,Manjeet Singh,Sumit Sharma LYC Secretaries, Kunal Kohli,Jatinder Chib,Ravi Kant,Khushwant Singh,Dheeraj Sharma AYC Presidents and Sailesh Gupta,Vikram Choudhary, Nimrandeep Singh,Sandeep,Neeraj kumar, Gurvinder Singh. coordinated the Yatra.
Addressing the Yatra gathring, Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National secretary, said that it is in the DNA of the Hindu Mahasaba, RSS and BJP to ditch the people after promising sky. When Mahatma Gandhi gave the slogan of “Angrezoo Bharat Choro”, it was the Hindu Mahasaba, advising the people not to join the mission for freedom. The BJP exploited the sentiment of the youth for vote bank politics and then forgot to give them anything in return including the employment. In place of giving more employment, this government has discontinued the daily wagers and NYCs. We demand permanent employment for these sections and also urge the government to scrap the new recruitment policy.
Addressing the gathering Pranav Shagotra President J&K PYC, strongly condemned the negligent and callous attitude of the government in addressing the issue of NYCs, which has resulted in the death of a NYC activist (Raj Kumar) and many others are in critical condition at the venue of hunger strike at Partab Park, Srinagar. He demanded proper compensation to the family of the NYC activist who died during the current hunger strike at Srinagar.
He further added that the present dispensation has exploited the youth for votes but have failed to keep their pre poll promises. He said that BJP has made a complete sell out for power and this is the worst kind of political cheating, especially with people of Jammu.
Tomorrow , the “Yuva Akrosh Yatra” will move to the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
Senior Congress leaders Manjeet Singh Jatt, Neeraj Gupta, PCC Secretaries, Sanjeev Panda were also present on the occasion.
