J&K to host under-19 National Games Molvi Ansari reviews arrangements

SRINAGAR, Oct 07: Jammu and Kashmir Government is all set to host 61st National Games (football under 19 boys) from 9th of this month.In this connection, Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Information Technology and Technical Education, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today convened a high level meeting of various heads of the departments to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of the National event.

 

Director General of Police Mr. K. Rajandra Kumar, Additional Director of Police, Armed, Mr. S.M.Sahai, Commissioner Secretary, IT, Youth Services and Sports and Technical Education, Mr. Herdish Kumar, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Ms. Sarita Chuhan, Director General Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Jehangir Mir, besides various heads of departments and Chief engineers of various disciplines were present on the occasion.

 

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues to ensure smooth conduct of the games and took various decisions on spot.The meeting was further informed that as many 1000 guests representing various States are participating in the National level event, while there would be eight to ten thousand spectators to witness the event on the inaugural function.

 

The meeting also reviewed security arrangements, traffic management plan, Supply of drinking water and power and mobile toilets and parking facilities besides transportation and refreshment arrangements for participants.On the occasion, the Minister asked the concerned to ensure availability of Physiotherapist and ambulance with first aid facilities. He also stressed for utilizing services of Media for coverage of the event besides installation of hoardings at different prominent public places. He also directed for inviting owners of clubs in witness the event.

 

The Minister asked concerned officers to show highest degree of hospitality as the Kashmir is traditionally known for it. He also directed them to work with in-tandem and co-ordinate each other so that no loophole shall remain unplugged in serving the guests.Earlier Director General of police assured the Minister that police will provide every possible support to make the event successful. Other officers also assured the meeting for providing better service and support for successful conduct of national event.
