
Kolkata, Feb 24: A man who was critically injured in a road accident in West Bengal died due to inadequate treatment by a private hospital, which had also refused to allow the kin to shift him to Govt. hospital unless paid up the full amount, the family reported.
A man was critically injured in a road accident & was admitted to the Apollo Gleneagles hospital where he was put on ventilation. The family said that in six days of hospitalisation, the patient was billed an amount of Rs 6,41,000. The family decided to shift to other hospital. But, the hospital authorities refused to release the patient as failed to pay the total billed amount. The family deposited cheques and fixed deposit certificates then the hospital release patient. He was moved to SSKM where he died due to negligence caused by private hospital.(Input from agencies)
