Jammu: The Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College, Jammu is under tense situation after Police picked up seven Muslim students on the late night of 23 Feb from the college hostel.
The seven boys who have been picked up and lodged in Gandhinagar Police Station include Mohammed Israr, Rabnawaz, Fazal, Murtaza, Zulfiqar, Sheraz and Mumtaz and belong to the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
As per reports, Boys were arrested after police lodged an FIR against them under sections 451, 323 and 147 RPC.
As per reports Some Top persons came in support of student political organisation in this matter as students were beaten reportedly by these seven Muslim students.
And then rumour spread of death of one boy which let to further rumour and political organisation protested against Muslim students which lead to their arrest.
Later it was made clear that nothing such happened.
But all this lead to tense situation across colleges.
