Vaid chairs 37th BoDs meeting of JKPHC; Calls for perspective planning in Infra development; takes several decisions to increase efficiency of PHC


 

JAMMU, Feb 21: In order to review and discuss the functioning of J&K Police Housing Corporation, Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S P Vaid today chaired 37th Board of Directors meeting, here today. The meeting took various decisions to enhance the pace of progress in different fields of working of the Corporation.   

Dr. Vaid while addressing the Board of Directors meeting disclosed that Police Housing Corporation (PHC) was established to undertake mega building infrastructure plan for Jammu and Kashmir Police under its modernization programme. The Corporation constructed a large building infrastructure in different areas of the State; enhance living facilities for the personnel.

The Corporation within few years earned a good name for the quality work and requests were pouring in from other departments for construction of their projects, he added.

DGP stressed for transparency in the working of the Corporation and completion of projects within the prescribed period of time so that the purpose of projects is fulfilled and utilized properly. He called for perspective planning in infrastructural development, keeping in view the future requirements of the police organization. A holistic plan needs to be envisaged for police housing and other related requirements of the organization, said the DGP.

The meeting took various decisions for increasing the efficiency of the Corporation besides other issues with regard to the betterment of personnel also came under discussion in the meeting.

Dr. Vaid asked the officers and engineers present in the meeting to revisit the facilities being provided to the personnel at their residential and working places. In view of the nature of the duty a secure and congenial atmosphere is required to be provided for the police personnel at their respective places and the engineers have a great responsibility to ensure infrastructure of required standards, added, Dr. Vaid.

Earlier, in the outset of the meeting, Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, Mr. A. K. Choudhary apprised the Board members about the construction activities of Corporation being carried out across the State. He said that proper supervision is ensured to make required standards of quality available in the construction of our projects. Completion of works with prescribed time is also focussed by the senior officers.   

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGP (Headquarters), VK Singh, IGP Jammu Zone, Dr. SD Singh Jamwal, Director Budget Finance, Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani, Director Finance (R&B), Rajesh Talwar, Exn. (PHC) Javaid Iqbal and FA (PHC), Fayaz Ahmed Wani.
