New Delhi, Feb12: Kashmiri journalist Sarwar Kashani has been made the national bureau chief of Indo Asian News Service (IANS).
Kashani, is graduate in Mass Communication from Kashmir Unuversity & a native of old city Srinagar became the first Kashmiri to head the national bureau of the globally subscribed news agency. Kashani had earlier worked with IANS as a special correspondent writing on issues related to security, defence and strategic matters. He returned to Kashmir in 2013 and worked with JKEDI as a communication officer till February last year when he rejoined IANS as Senior Editor heading the Breaking New Desk of the wire service.9Input from agencies)
