Jammu July 27:As part of intensification programme and continuing its series of protest demonstrations over the issue of ongoing struggle for AIIMS in Jammu region, Congress today held a strong protest demonstration at main chowk Kathua which was also converted in to anti-terrorist and anti-Pak rally in view of the terrorist attack at Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district bordering Kathua district of the state.
The protest demonstration was part of series of programmes being held by the Congress party across the region over the denial of AIIMS after the initial announcement in this regard and written commitment made by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, besides others who are the representatives from Kathua district apart from the Health Minister from the district as well as the Lok Sabha representative of the area also MOS in PMO.
Addressing the demonstrators, Senior Vice President Shri Sham Lal Sharma and other senior Congress leaders strongly condemned Pakistan for continuing sponsoring terrorism in this country and organizing terrorist attack in Dinanagar area of Gurdaspur-Punjab bordering Kathua, who targeted a Jammu bound bus, besides targeting security and civil people resulting into several casualties so far. Expressing shock over the loss of precious lives and injuries to others, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma strongly condemned the attack and took Pakistan to task and cautioned the people of the area about the nefarious designs of such forces within and out side the state.
Refereeing to the ongoing movement for AIIMS in Jammu region, Mr. Sharma said that people of Jammu region are seeking justice as they have been betrayed and backstabbed by the representatives belonging to BJP. He said that representatives from Kathua district are in the helm of affairs, as one is Deputy Chief Minister who made a written commitment with AIIMS Co-ordination Committee but failed to fulfill it but still continuing at the position against all moral norms and sanctity of the post and other being the Health Minister of the state is in hibernation over the issue, third being the MOS in PMO having congratulated the people of Jammu region on 28thFebruary and conveying gratitude to Modi Government for sanctioning AIIMS in Jammu region has no answer to the people as to where is that AIIMS which was sanctioned for Jammu region as per his own statement.
Urging the people to come forward to seek justice at their rightful view, the Senior Congress leaders Shri Sham Lal Sharma, Smt. Kanta Bhan, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Babu Singh, Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Rajnesh Sharma, Indu Pawar, Oma Shanker Pandey, Parnav Shagotra, Subash Gupta-President DCC Kathua, Pawan Raina, Manjit Singh Jatt, Naresh Sharma, Nirdosh Sharma, Kulbir Singh Pathania, Anuradha Andotra, Rattan Chand and others appealed to the people to expose the representatives of people who betrayed their trust for the sake of enjoying power and compromising overall vital commitments made with the electorates. They added that struggle shall be intensified further to achieve the goal.
