J&K R&B Deptt rebuts ‘factually incorrect’ news

SRINAGAR, Oct 02: The R&B Department today made it clear that the Department does not undertake the black-topping of the industrial estate Rangreth or any other industrial zone in the State which fall under the jurisdiction of State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO).

Reacting to a news item published in a Jammu based newspaper regarding macadamization of roads in Rangreth area, Chief Engineer R&B Department Kashmir said the news item has been wrongly attributed to the Public Works (R&B) Department which is not only factually incorrect, but has been published with malafide intentions.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement SIDCO said that the project of upgradation of Industrial Estate Rangreth was approved by Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

“It is also to be underlined that providing quality infrastructure and civic amenities in and around industrial areas is one of the important components for industrial development plans envisioned by the present dispensation,” a statement issued by SIDCO said.

It said the endeavor of SIDCO is to provide quality road connectivity, hassle free power and water supply to all industrial units across the State where these economic zones are deprived of these amenities.“The news item carried and attributed to R&B Department has portrayed developmental agenda of the Government in a wrong and unconstructive manner,” it said.
