DDC directed the XEN PWD Kathua and Basohli for the repair of bridle paths leading to the temples and shrines

KATHUA, OCTOBER 01- In order to ensure smooth arrangements for ensuing Navratra festival commencing from 13th October to 22nd October 2015, District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar convened a meeting of officers here at DC Office Complex today.

          SSP Kathua, ACR, SDM Hiranagar, Basohli, Billawar, Bani, district officers, police officers, traffic department, representatives of different shrines of district Kathua  attended the meeting.

          The DDC held detailed deliberations with officers and directed them to make all necessary arrangements to facilitate the smooth handling of the visits of the devotees during Navratras. Arrangements like transportation, sanitation, adequate drinking water, un-interrupted power supply, medical facilities, check on quality of eatables and their rates besides security arrangements were also thoroughly discussed in the meeting.

The DDC directed the XEN PWD Kathua and Basohli for the repair of bridle paths leading to the temples and shrines. The PHE Department was directed to ensure regular supply and chlorinated drinking water at the shrines and important Yatra path routes. The XEN PDD was also directed to ensure un-interrupted power supply to all the shrines and XEN PDD was directed to prepare the curtailment schedule of the areas. Barricading for the benefit of devotees was also discussed in the meeting.

Health department was given directions to make available necessary medical facilities at all the shrines with life saving drugs, first aid along with team of doctors.  The department was directed to provide roaster of doctors with their contact numbers to the executive magistrates and SDM’s of respective areas. The DDC also directed to execute fumigation near the shrines and the venue of Ramleela to avoid the spread of dengue.

          The DDC directed AD CAPD to check quality of eatables along with their rates in the markets and around temples and shrines area to display the rates of food items and fruits and were also directed to check over charging and proper supply of ration during Navratras. The DDC directed RTO Kathua to make transport arrangements on the shrine routes where ever required and RTO along with tehsildar, traffic department was directed to manage parking of vehicles so as to avoid traffic congestion. Fire services department was detailed to install fire tenders at identified locations.

          CEO Municipality and EO’s were directed to maintain cleanliness near the shrines on daily basis and install dustbins to avoid dumping of waste near the shrines.

          SDM’s were directed to make control room to monitor and coordinate the Navratra arrangements.

          The members of management committees and Pujaris of Temples and Shrines projected various problems and demands for which the DDC directed the concerned officers for their mitigation.
