Chennai, Feb 08: Sasikala being taking over as Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, rumours of AIADMK is heading for a split started. Care taker CM Panneerselvam said his party humilated him by declaring that he should resign as Chief Minister.
Several AIADMK leaders including PH Pandiyan, his son Manoj and Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar are opposed to Sasikala's elevation to the top post and have even alleged foul play in Jayalalithaa's death.
Panneerselvam last night expressed how he was being humiliated by Sasikala following which he was dismissed as AIADMK treasurer.
However Paneerselvam said the he will withdraw his resignation,if public of Tamilnadu like so, reports said.
Reports said O Panneerselvam has been removed from the post of AIADMK treasurer and Dindigul Sreenivasan has been appointed in his place.
An emergency meeting of senior AIADMK party leaders and ministers was held at Sasikala Natarajan’s Poes Garden residence.
