NC walked out over Rs. 2.5 crore MGNREGA bungling

JAMMU, Jan 31: National Conference  staged a walkout during the question hour on comments of Chairman Haji Anayat Ali’s refusal to constitute house committee into alleged bungling in distribution of MGNREGA funds in Kishtwar District.

Sajjad Kitchloo alleged that an FIR has been lodged in which a BDO has accepted that Rs. 2.5 crore has been withdrawn from the official account of MGNREGA and said that the BDO has even mentioned names of the individuals who have allegedly withdrawn this huge amount from the MGNREGA account.

Kitchloo alleged that the department is reluctant to take action against the accused officials and  demanded that a house committee should be constituted to probe into this massive bungling in the rural development department.

Minister of State for Rural development Sunil Sharma while replying to the question of NC MLC said that FIR does not mean that the case has been proved and said  we will look into the matter and order a departmental inquiry.

Chairman said that as the minister has assured for taking action, there is no need for constituting a house committee, however,  Kitchloo along with other NC MLCs  walked out from the house.
