JAMMU, JANUARY 30- The Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Sunil Kumar Sharma today informed the House that the Social Welfare Department has approached the District Development Commissioner, Rajouri through State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People, to identify state land for construction of Girls Hostel in the border district.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Vibod Gupta in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said as soon as the state land becomes available, the requisite Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction of the hostel shall be prepared and submitted to Planning Development and Monitoring Department for funding.
The Minister further said that currently the Pahari Girls Hostel with intake capacity of 50 boarders is functioning in rented accommodation comprising of 14 rooms, dining hall, kitchen, computer study room and 8 toilet and bathrooms.
